Though the climate of Madhya Pradesh varies from place to place
depending on the altitude of the region, it has a monsoon weather
pattern. The distinct seasons are summer (March to May), where it
is hot, dry, and windy, with an average temperature of at least
29 °C in all parts of the state. Winter (November to February),
where the climate usually pleasant and dry and the rainy months
of the southwest monsoon (June to October). Madhya Pradesh experiences
average annual rainfalls about 44 inches (1,117 mm). Generally,
rainfall decreases westward and northward; in the east and southeast
it averages 60 inches or more, dropping to 40 inches or less in
the west and less than 30 inches in the Chambal River valley to
the north.
However, the average best month for tourists to visit this state
is between October to April.
