Chanderi
is famous for its brocades and muslins, especially for its hand-woven
Chanderi sarees. Here, silk and cotton to create dazzling weaves,
distinguished by beautiful borders. Usually in subtle hues, the
Chanderi sarees have sophistication, which is very distinct and
cannot be matched with any other sarees. In the silk Zari sarees,
influences of the Varanasi style are visible. They generally have
a rich gold border and two gold bands on the pallav. The more exclusive
ones have gold checks with lotus roundels all over, which are known
as butis.
Indore's trade and commerce has a close resemblance
with Mumbai, hence it is being called as the 'Mini -Bombay'. Indore
is hence the "Commercial Capital" of the state. Indore
is connected with Mumbai, in every way, thus every business trend
be it new fashion, technology or just the business culture, comes
in very fast to Indore. Indore is also known for its leather toys

popular among the tourist as well as the native people. One can

Being part of Vindhya range (Malwa), the influence of Vindhyachal
(Malwa) tribal art is clearly visible in on the handicrafts and
