Gandipet Lake:
Located at a distance of 20 km. from Hyderabad, this lake is also called as Osman Sagar. It was constructed by Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VIIth Nizam of Hyderabad after the disastrous floods of 1908 by constructing a dam across river Musi. Mokshagundam Visweswarayya planned the lake for supplying water to the city of Hyderabad. The lake is spread over an area of 46 square kilometers. It has well laid out lush green gardens and a swimming pool. It is a very popular picnic spot for the city crowd.Overlooking the lake is the heritage building, Sagar Mahal, built as a resort by the Nizam of Hyderabad and converted now into a lake resort managed by AP Tourism.

Hussain Sagar Lake:
Excavated in 1562 A.D. by Hussain Shah Wali during the time of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, the promenade by the lake is a busy thoroughfare today. Boating and water sports are a regular feature in the Hussainsagar. One of the World's tallest monolithic statues of Buddha stands on the 'Rock of Gibraltar', in the middle of the lake. Added to all these, AP Tourism is providing new and better facilities like speed boats, motor boats, 48 seater Launch etc. Starlit dinner on-board and private parties also can be arranged on the Launch.
